Join in and watch Netflix featured Dr. Monica Jacob share insights on secrets behind Aesthetic Medicine, it's path breaking advancements, limited popularity on pursuing a career in Aesthetic Medicine and all about the buzz around Venus Concept.

[Music] good afternoon friends and welcome back to this lovely show once more going to have a great time with one of the celebrities here she's actually in that bollywood movie but incidentally she chose to become a doctor also and that's how dr monica jack jacob is she's an excellent doctor a real trendsetter who has done so many things in life a visionary an entrepreneur a doctor who has been able to get far ahead in the field that she is in and she's going to tell us a lot about aesthetic cosmetic surgery how overlapping happens between various fields dr monica jacob is a consultant aesthetic physician and she has expertise in the field of esthetic medicine for the past two decades she's pioneered in the fields for procedures like thread lift dermal fillers and recently started her own product line that's why i said she is an entrepreneur also that's nutraceuticals and redefining skin hair weight loss now these three magic words trio what you say and fourth is the anti-aging you tell any lady that look i deal with your skin hair weight loss and anti-aging wow that's the place to go and i i am you know i'm an ophthalmologist and i realize what mistakes i made in my life choosing this career you know with so much of glamour it was so much fun aesthetic clinics would have been a great time in life but she also has a great passion for various things you know she starts she learned you know it's interesting that you see a doctor who is so popular that's been featured on a popular and trending reality show then on the thumbnail of the episode and also got featured in the episode itself for doing what you do the best that is she was shown live the cameras were on on the famous show the fabulous lives of bollywood wives dr jacob was seen in a live facelift to actress neelam budari at the andheri clinic now that's that's something absolutely fantastic you know i remember doing a show on ndtv banned bhaja bharat i did a live lasik surgery on national television i said if anything goes wrong you are crucified you are live and you are taped so you know i can understand the stress you have to go through when a live camera is on and the whole country could be watching you at that time she has multiple comics and she has been trained at us monaco singapore dubai she is you know she practices at multiple places you know friends monaco is the place to be for glamour and for all those lovely conferences that you have people can spend money like water to get those four basic ingredients of life weight loss skin pretty skin hair and the anti-aging solution she has been featured in the forbes business icons also and she's done her md from nia tnmedical college and cps in 2002 and she's originally undergrad from gj hospital and then diploma in aesthetic dermatology academy of aesthetic medicine nutrition and diet planning hair transplantation anti-aging medicine wow welcome to the show doc thanks and lovely to have a young doctor so established and so reputed as you in the country so welcome to the show ma'am thank you for inviting me tell us your interesting journey doc this is very important because there are a lot of doctors watching it and a lot of them want to know what could their children and young beginners also how would they begin their life if they were to get into this kind of a lifestyle what is the society wanting how did you change what made you do this so uh to go back like i did my empty pathology and you know i was doing my practice but i was never passionate about the whole pathology thing and then i conceived twins and you know post twins i realized that i had a lot of issues like stretch marks you know pigmentation uh you know a lot of other issues that we have like sagging and i went to my gardening quality success so you've delivered twins this is the price you pay for having twins i went to a dirt man he told me that this is not part of her thing so i couldn't understand you know where to go then i started reading about it you know where does one go i went to a plastic surgeon he says the only thing is to get it you know surgically remove whatever it is and for every small thing you don't want to get into a surgery under the knife so then i realized something more to it how invest people looking so great and you know they're looking so contoured and you know even after liberty and 40 45 they look great they have great bodies and this is when you know i started uh reading i started traveling abroad i started doing courses abroad and i think i've practically been everywhere around the globe to learn from the best brilliant so friends it's never too late in life you know how it is by default you chose a career and you become a doctor you became a pathologist but your calling in a calling could be somewhere else and that's the most important part of being open in life ready to learn at any stage in life ready to go with the flow and what you feel most comfortable which shoes with clothes you feel most comfortable to go in and that's a brilliant thing to jump one career from pathology most people feel dumb and damned okay now that i've done this it's too late to change my life here here it's an important thing it's self learned you have your basic degree you know your basic anatomy physiology biochemistry the rest of your stuff because of your mbbs and pathology so you also know what things can go wrong and you said so beautifully a gynecologist would give you her or his opinion a surgeon always loves to cut that i'll agree so the plastic surgeon always wants to knock off things or do this or do that they are not going to be interested in in holistic approach to the whole thing so which is where i realize you know a lot of skin specialists now doc tell me how do you differentiate for yourself from a lot of other aesthetics you know there are so many doctors who have sprung up recently that i see in the past five years everybody wants to practice aesthetic medicine see everybody wants to practice aesthetic medicines and these fillers and yellow botox or these neuromodulators they are available for doctors who have done the basic degree like mvps but there's a lot of science that goes behind understanding the face where people need it and that's why we have the syndrome of overfill faces on unnatural look or a spark browse or a pillow face when you see you know they're looking puffy or they're looking unnatural uh everybody comes with the same result unless they have a good experience they must have injective skills they must have aesthetic skills you know all that is also important apart from aesthetic instincts i would say you know yeah you said something very interesting aesthetic instinct what looks pretty to me may not look gritty to somebody else the beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder so if you have that inner thing that you know so your mind has been trained toward that direction that one eyebrow is a little lower than the other one one eyelid is a little droop more than the other one my my frown here is showing off i need botox have to come to you then my my global airlines i need to be treated for so that's how how does your your branch overlap with a dermatologist and or a plastic surgeon do you work in unison with them or do you have your own kind of approach no we work with a lot of dirt mats plastic surgeons dentists you know somebody's coming from smite correction if the dedication is not right then we have to refer them to a dentist or if they have a short chain and i know that if i put three colors or four pillars today the longevity is just a year and a half then i'd rather refer to a plastic surgeon okay or somebody having skin issues or underlying problems scale then we're just into skin health restoration and preventive aging or maybe you know therapeutic but most of the skin diseases we do not treat any skin diseases so there we need a dermatologist and most of the dermatologists are not injecting one of the first questions coming up is ma'am for acne on the face what is it that we can do multiple things you start from the lifestyle changes cut down your sugars your calms exercise daily drink plenty of water avoid home remedies and choose a good skincare routine and protect your skin even at necron skin would require moisturizer and sun protection but obviously we need serum-based products and we need gel-based sunscreens wow you said almost 15 things i mean i cannot make notes so quickly but so many things you said it's your lifestyle your sugar your stress your sleep adequate hydration and correct am i saying these are all the things which yeah so sugar refined sugar is a definite problem at all stages in life isn't it you you also feel for acne and for other things yes how have you managed to get such glowing skin now have you had to get your secret now so i do everything whatever i speak i practice first on myself so i i do have a neuromodulator like the botox here so i don't get those lines i have little dermal fillers some threadless and vitamin infusion and few peels that's it wow fantastic so a good combination of your multi vitamins vitamin d b12 magnesium selenium good bowel good bowel makes a big difference to the skin patient it does so hydrate yourself from but then replace your antioxidants it's not only the vitamins also antioxidants they have a huge role to play exercise every day whatever you choose at least four to five times in a week that's very important because everybody is stressed today is it cardio or would you call weights also for your skin which is the first thing in the morning you have to do which relaxes your mind which is like weight training with your own body rather than using waste because certain age must realize that you cannot do too much of weight training or you cannot do too much of cardio because you cannot keep running so somewhere to balance maybe twice a week you can do cardio twice or thrice twice a week but things like that you can do every day without injury correct you do pilates because there is a good friend of mine whom i just interviewed last week on pilates samir samir and his daughter you must where did you do your pilates drama okay okay so friends pilates is a lovely way what she's saying even if you have backache you have ligament tears even if you have some injuries while playing some games you can still get out of pilates because the guys who i was talking and referring to who have their own studio the father daughter we just interviewed last week and you know what what they said was they both had injury and relatives is one thing where you can have your good stretching done simultaneously lose weight and you can do your stuff so interesting view viewpoint that you're saying is on a personal level you like pilates i've lost about 35 kgs first my twins and i realized that with trainers and they used to make me do a lot of cardio i injured my knee i enjoyed my back the only thing i can do without injury now so friends again see very important see look at this classical thing you do excessive cardio or you keep doing something you keep jogging your knees are at a risk your orthopedic colleagues might enjoy your transplant later but uh what what we really don't want to do is weight bearing after a particular age cardio enough we just had two examples last about a fortnight back in mumbai when a young interventional radiologist collapsed in the gym and passed away young 45 year old guy very fit absolutely fine worked out good regular workout in the gym and he collapsed in the gym so what is enough you know it's always like this when you're working in the gym or you're doing anything the all the the tagline is you should be little more than what you can but what is this little more where is this lakshman raka stopping we'll never know so you rather not overdo after a particular age you know a lot of examples of people collapsing so what you said pilates is good for you that does your cardio also doc it helps you with your cardio pilates also you can do jumping on the carrot without entering your nails so we like they customize according to your uh injuries and your concerns you've got actually like it for every day i need to work out every day this is a stress buster for me yeah the endorphins which are released after your good workout i can swear with you i can put it together with you you start missing it after a few days so the serotonin dopamine and endorphins which are released after your good workout in the gym can help you so you could go swimming you could go running you whatever is your poison tennis squash but some kind of a cardio and very important so you know this is where i learned an important thing friends called swan s-w-a-n stretching or you need a stretcher weight training aerobic and nutrition so what she's mentioning is so important for your skin and hair all these things are so very vital that glow on the face you know always there for your hair to be shining what is the special care for hair that you would recommend see for hair again the lifestyle changes your exercise and your diet goes without saying sprouted moong is very good for your hair and along with that you need to have cyclical vitamin therapy after a certain age it's like same day you cannot repeat the same vitamins especially design vitamins that we have which is hair care because we are replacing each vitamin on a separate day so that there's a logistic absorption of the products and there's no wastage of any of those because you cannot take iron and calcium together it's too late so understanding what you cannot take one multivitamin one biotin for your hair and thinking that it's working for you along with that a good hair care like a scalp moisturizer maybe a regrowth serum some growth factors not minoxidil because obviously it can give side effects and along with that may be a good shampoo which is ph balanced and you know a conditioner and not too much of these coloring products which people use nowadays because they will damage your hair doc you mentioned quite a few things right now so shampooing the regular shampoo which you get of the shell is not necessarily ph balanced so it's it could be harmful to your hair so you should have a ph neutral kind of a shampoo which is which would be good is that correct what you said yes shampoo is alkaline scalp when you start using baby shampoo which is alkaline which will damage your hair it will damage your hair now this is very important because we never even think about it in routine life i for sure didn't know for 55 years that you cannot use any shampoo there is a specific shampoo that you could use because now i'm bald i put on a wig right now i'm not bald but so i thought minoxidil was the only thing which worked for hair growth right is it true you just mentioned a lot of side effects with minoxidil is it yeah because on a long-term basis it causes drying then you have to use a scalp moisturizer for a routine haircare person doesn't need minoxidil because they buy over the counter they stop it there's a rebound here for that need to understand once you start they need to continue still the time you're applying it's working for you you know they can do certain treatments which is like growth factor injections or they can come and do a prp at the clinic and follow good regime scalp relief and replace your vitamins regularly so the hair is a dead part of the body it needs rejuvenation every three four hours you would recommend that some kind of a moisture that should be applied ever so the scalp we moisturizer a little bit of hydration for the shafts for them to look lustrous and obviously a vitamin c a very very important role here again deficiency of not only biotin it's calcium d3 everything amino acids yeah so minor answers so what about seborrhea the commonest thing that people find dandruff or seborrheic skin and the same way they have a scalp which is separate with a lot of clicks there's special shampoos for that special shampoos for siboria and also because the porridge skin then the special oil control pads you can control your oil it says even production apart from using the regular things that you do the good old coconut oil used in india good bad ugly depends dry skin can still use it just use a half an hour prior to shampooing don't sleep with the coconut oil on so that's important you know a lot of people have a lot of itching in the skull would you recommend steroids for that no no okay we have a question coming for hairline receding what can you do see uh we will have to evaluate you do your hormone analysis and probably you know if the headline is receding there's not much you can do we can just control it at that time maybe we can use uh prp or the growth factors to stop the hair fall and to improve the individual thickness if the hairline is still persistent it doesn't come back then obviously the transplant is the only option for the hairline now comes the major question when is a transplant recommended you know lovely that male pattern balding which is there and what is a good time to do it what is the bad time what are the various things that we have in transplant hair transplant your own transplant what what is it that we're looking at weaving what is the difference between one over the other see what happens is now if the we have to see the donor site first see a hair transplant the later you do it the better it is because the hair that you have the donor side of the only hair that you applied because you cannot transplant it now like today if i'm young and i do a hair transplant i might retain this hair but i start losing hair from behind so it's important that it's not only the hair transplant is also important you have to preserve the remaining hair this might stay but you might lose the hair behind that so some people think oh i don't want to do prp i don't want to do this but it's important to stabilize the hair fall first you mentioned prp a couple of times ma'am is it a good solution your own serum which is being injected in your scalp is ultimately increasing your blood supply do you recommend prp for which conditions see prp in this thinning this hair falls because it will give you a micro environment for the hair to start growing it's like growth factors and also improving the micro circulation so for all those things it works beautifully well as i said only one thing will not work the hair care is also important the right shampoo the scalp moisturizer a little bit of weight growth vitamins from inside so plant that has to grow if it doesn't get water or it doesn't get minerals so it's a holistic approach again all of you to stress about the headphone or some other issue is you're simply losing hair how does one moistu moisturize the scalp regularly yes how do you moisturize the scalp regularly now scalp moisturizers are available right now it's like a cream that you apply which is non-sticky it's like a gel-based moisturizer so that everyone should be doing every morning after the hair wash and if the scalp is oily then you need to wash your scalp every day another misconception the more you wash your hair the more hair will fall it's not like that if you have oily scalp very important because you know men have a kind of a tendency to try and wash their hair every day women don't but there is this fixation with a lot of men that they need to wash every day and then they are put under the wrong presumption that you can't wash your hair every day or you lose a lot of hair so what you're saying is it's fine to wash shampoo your hair with a properly balanced shampoo every day yeah especially when you have oily scalp if you oily scalp or the borix cap and you do not wash then the support will aggravate or your dandruff or whatever problem is an aggravated oily scalp has to be washed it's like cleansing your excess even that's accumulated on top there's a question coming hirsutism treatment for his have to go to success colleges probably get yourself evaluated take treatment for that and obviously we do lasers for laser hair reduction so what happens is a person needs about nine sessions eight to six to nine sessions you might require 12 to 15 sessions but definitely the thickness of the hair will go down and is there any permanent solution for dandruff oh it has to be kept under check it's a tendency that you have to have dandruff and keep your scalp clean any home remedy for hormone balancing you know that and something that can be done for that meditation exercise antioxidants and stay away from your stress stay away from stress oh that's a good one so are you trying to say husband wife says spouse stress or what kind of stress works best [Laughter] what can be done for hyperpigmentation on face you know a lot of women have that problem of a butterfly kind of a rash not necessarily a celly or something but they have with hormone changing over a period of time they have a rash what is the treatment for that hyperpigmentation on face you have to see whether it's a superficial pigmentation or deeper pigmentation one can stretch the skin with two fingers and see whether the pigmentation is getting lesser then it can be 100 percent treatable again the right skincare is important your right face wash your clean your morning evening serum which is a lightning complex and the sunscreen sunscreen is really really important every too early because most of this is sun damage most of this uv damage nowadays because we're using so much of forms and laptops and even the led lights once you have pigmentation these lights are also harming the skin is called the hiv likes we have special sunscreens available which protect us against the lgbt lights which are containing fractionated melanin so the skin changes you cannot use a normal product somebody else is using and oral antioxidants also work like oral sunscreens so that's most important because right now we you know taking care of the internal health as well as external health so oral sleep constraints are working wonderfully well along with the normal routine treatment that we were offering earlier and then we have special treatments at the clinic due to prp or vitamin infusion especially using the light and cartilage we have q lasers but once the skin is hydrated then only we can do that we have biostimulators we can inject that and that strengthens the barrier function hydrates the skin from within and also healthy pigmentation especially people have got thinned out skin because of aging depends we have to check the skin and probably advice according to that and we also mentioned something interesting doc that uh hair color uh are you trying to see a lot of people with gray hair right there over a period of time won't color their hair is it not a good idea to color your hair once in three weeks four weeks you can color your hair but leave it please uh don't touch your scalp with the color you know at least leave half an inch of the scalp try not to touch your scalp interesting because this is done at the parlor and who whoever is going to look after you for that no but whenever i need some touch up or something like that i tell them they don't touch the scale okay interesting okay so the a lot of people do a root treatment you know they only go for their root treatment that time the scalp will be touched then then there will be a problem or they can apply calcium or something like that and probably wash it off immediately or wash it thoroughly [Music] then again they're very good products which are available which are dr zenobarizo special grain for melisma which he believes that we have to control sebum to control melisma and he has a special protocol how we use those particular products and this bleaching and blending of the melanocytes which is the pigment producing cells along with improving the barrier function a good hydration and the sun protection along with oral antioxidants if somebody is on some medication than losing hair is there something that can be done for that i mean of course stopping that medicine and changing the medicine but somebody's asking this question that if you if drug-induced hair loss yes so i think they need to replace the vitamins but they have to check with the doctor whether they can stop that particular drug so we have to check the entire history what we can do is check for any vitamin deficiency and replace the vitamins along with that okay and how about dark circles one of the things which people complain you know not just studying for mbbs and ms exams but but overworking in the clinic also every time the doctor right from his eighth standard day has been promised a carrot and he's been working hard and more hard and more hard every passing day it ate you were told 10th is the end then you were told 12th is the end when you just didn't know what hit you and then the first mbps hit you like hell you didn't know what's going on in grey's anatomy and physiology and those thick bricks and then second and third mb and then ms and you thought ms was it but then life has not even begun private practice now tell me what do you do with these dark circles so we have to find because the dark circles as you said they're sleep deprived they just need a good sleep in case it's hereditary then it's difficult to treat the cause of dark circle is not only pigmentation it can also be volume loss okay if there is a volume loss like indians have deep set eyes so most of the indians they need under eye fillers to improve the dark circles so we check whether it's the skin so we can put them on a good skincare regime a good eye serum or if there's a hologram and the eyes are deep set then we need to fill fill around this area and the dark circles are almost 70 to 80 percent gone so filler in that area so that that would help stretching the skin oh that's that's interesting even if i say a 13 or 14 year old child has this uh you know deep set eyes they have deep set eyes so now let's go a little on your personal life you know ma'am you have been part of jj and i hospital which one is nearer to you and how was your undergrad journey what did you think yourself you would be did you ever imagine that you would reach the stage in life when you were doing your undergrad um obviously like gigi more because obviously match up 200 people and i had cleared my all india entrance and you know you think that you've reached somewhere but once your first mbps realize that you know where but that's that's a journey and i never thought that i would be here at this rate okay it's been a journey lovely so it's always like paul coyle said no it's the journey which is important destination is incidental right right and you know i have copyrighted this law in the world called the law of default you're born out of no choice you will die out of no choice you could not choose your parents you could not choose the color of your skin color of your eyes your blood group country of origin in fact most major things in life you could never choose you just proved my law once again you got into medicine you didn't know where you will land but somewhere the dotted line as steve jobs put it up they got through and you are here by default you know that's very interesting very interesting one more person proving that point to me so how do you start your day first thing in the morning is my work or i can drop everything but i have to finish my workout i can't function fantastic because i have a life afterwards people have also asked me your health is the most important thing especially after covid and people have realized that there is nothing more important than the health which is which is no money can buy that post forbid hair loss somebody is asking psy kashori is asking post covered hair loss is there something which is reversible yes it is completely reversible don't stress about it take good antioxidants and replace your vitamins it takes about three to four months for the post covered hair we are facing a lot of problems over here and they're getting better so they do get better with vitamins and sometimes it's not a permanent brow fantastic applying egg on scalp is it good for hair you are applying protein in your scalp like that actually penetrates inside for that matter even home remedies so nothing on top really works in fact if you leave it for a longer time the hair will dry so much and start falling so anything you apply want to try just don't do it for more than 10 to 15 minutes or half an hour fantastic best hair moisturizing cream that you can recommend i can take treatments i don't know like normally available the chemist would be a juvenile cream or something sorry again okay okay so that answers one more question for aisha shade acne scar treatment acne scars treatment would you expand a little on that interesting question because conventional treatment is a co2 laser but indian skin we mean british we get into a prs which is post inflammatory hyperpigmentation so we need special lasers and a combination approach we can subsidize a scar and we can use a nano fractional radio frequency which does not give you a downtime or a pih okay and probably we can add on certain retinal products having said so much about it what is school sculpting do you do cool sculpting i don't do school sculpting i had a machine earlier because indians don't look for small bulges it's only for small areas we are looking more of volume or circumferential reduction the very few candles actually fit into the idea that these lean models are ideal body weight and they just need a small role to be targeted you know a banana roll or a small thyroid or a love handle which whereas we have people who are this and they need circumferential reductions in my machine was slightly like that like the travel apologies i had earlier and they're expecting a lot of results because of the the cost factor is involved there each session were so interesting the cool sculpting is not the answer for your belly fat any tips that you would like to give for the the most enigma question belly fat reduction uh belly fat reduction you have to cut up down on your calves so carbohydrates after 5 pm if your world coughs you will start having a flat belly exercise every day yeah exercise every day do some leg raising exercising if you're not able to go to the gym because you have to make your core stronger it's a very difficult muscle to work on but you need to do that and obviously coupled with a good diet a lot of times uh you know you can take this natural antioxidant which is astro zelda which is also helping fat burning you have seen good results with that too which is in one of our antioxidants which is age defy which is a strong and anti-inflammatory which is anti-aging it also gives us an oral uv protection works like oral sunscreen and also helps to improve the metabolic rate brilliant so it's cool sculpting is not necessarily the answer for belly fat you might if it's beyond your reach and liposuction which is done by a plastic surgeon you could do that for localized pads of fat that you can do cool sculpting that's a correct correct answer hitting the point to you know botox and fillers what is your opinion is there any anything wrong doing them what is a good time to do it how often does it need to be done fillers last for about a year year and a half botox may be lesser time yes yes so botox or dysport and neuromodulators they generally use for the upper facial lines which is you know the horizontal lines the vertical lines are crow's feet and generally people use it very loosely look her whole face is botox we don't use bulldogs in the full face it's generally for upper facial lines and mid-face downwards is your colors it's either for giving your left contouring filling your under eyes or the nasolabials even contouring your nose for that matter nowadays temple hall unless we do fillers or giving you a jawline or a chin or a lip augmentation so these are all good procedures we have safer techniques we give natural looking results so these are very safe nowadays to do it botox would last for about four months you need to redo again but it also prevents any further aging during that time it relaxes your muscle for that particular time so the muscle doesn't develop that much and if you're using the fella it's not only cosmetically it's also hydrating your skin from with that within it's also giving a foreclosure collagen production rebuilding your elastic fibers if you're giving all the gold it's like augmenting your bones and strengthening your ligaments and preventing further eating interesting so very very nice explanation that you give the upper face profile we lost your voice we lost your voice i said anybody can do it like a 21 year old having deep set eyes they can do under eye fillers having very short chin so anyone can do it and live all british people are doing in their 20s early 20s derma rolls and chemical peeling are they good early signs of aging derma rolls and chemical peelings early signs of aging just for foreclosures it don't work beyond a point okay all right now coming to that lovely show which you had how was your experience working for the netflix show it was a wonderful experience so i'll tell you one thing but i must tell you out of all the other old babes who are there in that show you are the youngest one no i'm not but thank you for the compliment then i'd never ask a lady or age so i'm not going to ask your age but you'll the youngest out of the other three babes who were playing who were there in the screen how was the experience of the netflix show it was a wonderful experience and uh you know i'm really honored that they gave me that opportunity to be on the show and i'm really thankful to neil you know for giving her faith and trusting me with her face and going live on this show because obviously you know you're really stressed and nervous being more than you the other person is also you know equally stressed because all cameras and you and you've never done this before but you know everybody made me very comfortable and they shorted my own clear neck so i was also quite comfortable and it was worth it yeah you had good fun that we can see so tell me spending time in the netflix shoot or working in the clinic which one will you choose i think i like both because shoot also i'm going to say about what i do with the clinic and if given a chance to reset your life which are the moments of your life you would like to reset i think none of them because i have enjoyed each phase of my life learned my lessons and this is why this is called a journey and the journey is on ah doc your your net connection is a little weak possibly lost you in between so you said you had a fantastic journey and you you liked all those phases of life yes correct any natural antioxidant that you would recommend and treatment for keloid natural antioxidants all colored fruits vegetables are all in rainbows the rainbow of colors in your diet yes so all colored fruits vegetables so must have all of them and keloid obviously intra-lethal steroids and if it's bigger then refer to plastic surgeon okay which is your favorite place in mumbai that you like to go regularly do you do you eat outside or you don't eat only looking at your at your structure you don't eat you're on a chronic diet i'm always hungry my favorite place i mean i love to eat sushi all the restaurants were closed but kofuku is one of my favorite places any treatment for freckles freckles you have sunscreen protect your skin and use some pigment lightening agent kojic acid out between any of these and you can add at night and we can do the latest the latest fad of intermittent fasting which has picked up because fasting and hydration or your food and dietary habits and hydration can directly affect your skin and your hair your vigor and vitality is it a good idea you know just because somebody else has lost 15 kgs intermittent fasting may not work for me you know people are people don't know what they're doing 20 hours of intermittent fasting i would say it's a good thing to have an early dinner and a late breakfast but don't go overboard with that like 16 hours 20 years and obviously have vitamin deficiencies you're a problem of acidity it'll be difficult for you working out in the morning and sometimes you're not even hydrating themselves they're not even having water in that intermittent fasting which is not right correct so in fact they might land up eating their own muscles and and right so they might become cannibals and eat up their own muscles apparently if it's a vegetarian trying to do that in losing trying to lose fat they will lose more muscle rather than rather than the fat isn't it yes treatment for dle aparna watts is asking what is the treatment for dle so she can visit dermatologists for that okay and postpartum hair fall treatment most of this is nutritional okay a component of hormone so they can replace the vitamins so doc we have discussed a little about skin hair aesthetic go ahead give us your understanding what is it that every person needs actually and how can they guide their patients i think a lot of science has developed into this it's no longer just at random giving botox or giving fillers anywhere randomly the science and the art behind the whole thing please go ahead and expand a little on that okay so there's a science behind beauty so uh every beautiful thing whether it's an art or architecture or flower any attractive thing has certain thing which is called a golden ratio or a high proportion so when we start or we do analysis or assessment we first see the symmetry and the proportion and then we measure something called the golden ratio on the face and then the face is augmented or the treatment plan is made according to that so just rebalancing the symmetry and the proportions like upper middle low one third has to be in same ratio and golden ratio is calculated taking the fact that the inter-cancer distance between the two is never change and rest of the structures keep sagging even after 20 years somebody comes to me i can restore the same volume taking that proportion and measuring each of these areas and getting them back 20 years like a lot of people that feel that they've got these nasolabial folds it's just for headphones because of volume loss or maybe the laxity of ligament on the side so you need to take the tissues backwards rather than adding more volume in the center of the face and also the length of the lip the height of the lip and they're doing lip combination otherwise you will have duct lips or even a pillow face or you will have spark so people are scared of these unnatural uh results and that's why they're scared of getting into these kind of injectables so uh yeah very well done face this is a job which is not seen it looks very natural and early signs of aging everybody is bothered everybody is bothered about open pores everybody's bothered about acne pigmentation and like class i was discussing what very person of the clients are doctors now ah now that's the question now that's the question i wanted to ask you what percentage of your patients are doctors now 20 to 25 whoa whoa whoa that's a lot that's a lot i'm happy that doctors also have started looking at themselves in the mirror because most doctors end of the day are strangers in the mirror they can't recognize themselves after a particular stage in life so thank god they are looking after themselves and going for beauty treatment and or whatever that needs to be done to remain young and agile the prime years of life were lost in the youth you know in doing medicine and you never had any control over that you never even knew where you were headed with all the stress but there's always a time you can regain back that time and you're saying you put them back almost 15 20 years you've given them back their life yeah that that is something important and without any side effect and the good thing about botox and the good see there are i would say there are no side effects it's all injector based skills yeah that's where a human comes into the picture you can't go to a robot or you can't tell google to tell me how much to inject you need a aesthetic so we have to very careful because we inject an artery they could be necrosis so we have like had cases of blindness word for it where you know people inject close to the nose or somewhere on your chin and they have get into problems very important to eject slow small amounts be in a safer areas when we are doing that correct your blood vessels you don't want to rupture that and people putting linear in the orbit and people have had problems with the blood circulation and that is true uh guru shankar is once again asking treatment for melasma is that would you like to expect permanent solution for melasma solution it has to be kept under check and if you're not using sunscreen that's your first thing is to prevent him protect your skin now for further worsening of melisma and also protection against the uv and also start with oral antioxidant good skin care how many hours do you manage to sleep doctor what is your favorite pastime to relax what is it i can't compromise on my sleeve i can skip my foot but i have to sleep so i sleep around seven hours seven so one of the things that everybody is recommending for any kind of weight loss also if you need any piece if you need you need to rest for better skin for better hair for happiness for endurance for everything we need to rest well that's that's very very very important given fact of life and thanks doc it's been a wonderful thing interacting with you there are so many questions which keep coming we have taken enough of your time and any other before you leave for the juniors that uh how is this branch called aesthetic and how do you overlap and how you how do you not have clash of egos you know clash of interest between a dentist a cosmetologist a cosmetic surgeon a dermatologist a hair transplant surgeon you know how how is the overlapping areas and how do you manage to get out of that see there's a lot of overlapping i would say and obviously you know it's a new branch and then people don't like like dermatologists might not like oh she's doing this or she's doing that or probably she's not qualified all those things we do face right now but i think over a period of time this would you know all these doctors would become so busy that you know they wouldn't have enough time to talk about that because this is a evolving field i would say like the subspecialty but everyone walking on the road is your client and how many people can you see if you're doing well in your work true so it can increase only the work can only increase it is not even the tip of the eye there is enough place for everyone there is so much work still left to be done in countries like venezuela you know a girl of 14 is way far far far more aware of cosmetic than what this country people are at the age of 40 also you know brazil venezuela they are so much into beauty and other stuff brilliant doc last question guru shankar is asking how to treat pitted scars due to acne so again we'll have to see and see how the scars are whether we can fill them we can do subcision we can do a laser to resurface or we can also add some biostimulators now we have like vital thanks thanks doc we will get you back with a promise but thanks for spending some valuable time for all our crowd here and giving them the right kind of information and a lot of hard work a lot of lot of success that we can see wishing you all the very best in life it is not even the beginning that you have had in a wonderful career of yours switching careers becoming an entrepreneur wow are you married before i before you leave i must ask you you're just yeah i am married i have twins 18 years old oh wow that's what i wanted to know that doesn't look like you know they they would be scared anybody would be scared to say that they have a mother or the elder sister who's this age now great so your spouse must be very supportive to allow you to do so many things and compliments to the family thanks so much for being with us
