Management of Ectopic Ureter

Jul 15, 3:30 PM

An ectopic ureter is a congenital abnormality where a person is born with a ureter that connects to the wrong place. That is, an ectopic ureter carries urine to somewhere other than the bladder, such as bladder neck, rectum, seminal vesicles, urethra, Uterus, cervix, vagina or vas deferens. They are more common in girls and can cause urinary incontinence, urinary tract infections or hydronephrosis. Main goal of treatment is to correct the congenital defect or drain urine away from the kidney to prevent damage. Join us live on Medlix to know all about current management strategies of ectopic ureter.
