Positive pressure breathing is used during mechanical ventilation (MV), which depends on the airway system's compliance and resistance. Lung expansion occurs during spontaneous inspiration as a result of transpulmonary pressure (P), which is primarily caused by a negative pleural pressure produced by the inspiratory muscles. Mechanical ventilation is incredibly well supported by physiology. There are several ways to deliver MV, including mandatory mode and assisted mode.
