Breaking Bad News

Apr 19 | 3:30 PM

Practitioners frequently have to deliver bad news to their patients. This challenging endeavour necessitates patience and honed communication skills, as well as empathy for all people involved. We need to understand 3 things to do this effectively- 1. Your own emotions 2. Patient's mindset 3. The environment. These three things also form the crux of effective communication skills. As we discussed in the last chapter, there are a variety of patient-centered communication strategies we can use to accomplish this. In Chapter 2 of the series, we'll continue our discussion with Dr. Krishna Naineni about how to convey terrible news to patients successfully.
