For children, muscle force imbalance is the leading cause of foot and gait malformation as they develop. Many disorders, including tethered cord syndrome, cerebral palsy, Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease, and trauma, can cause muscle force imbalance. Correcting the deformity and preventing its recurrence after surgery requires adequate soft tissue release and muscular balance. We welcome Dr. Chasanal Rathod, who will discuss how soft tissue release, combined with a joint-sparing osteotomy, is effective in treating pediatric foot deformities!
